March 10, 2009 marked 50 years since the Tibetan National Uprising day of 1959 and the first anniversary of the glorious spring uprisings of 2008. The official ceremony at Tsuglakhang was presided over by His Holiness The Dalai Lama in the presence of the religious heads of the major Tibetan traditions and the representatives of the Tibetan Government-in-exile
